Jake Berghofer and Emma Patterson of Bonnydale QLD Black Simmentals operate their stud from Kingaroy in SE QLD. With just over 200 stud females they are preparing for their inaugural bull sale in September 2020. Alongside the stud, Jake and Emma run around 800 head of commercial cattle across 4 properties with extra trade cattle when the season allows.
Their main goals are for high fertility, especially in their high-value embryo transfer programs and maximising growth in their stud bulls, replacement heifers and trade cattle. Since Emma is an accountant, these goals must be achieved with a commercial focus ensuring maximum profitability!
