David has been with Ashvale Station since 2015. Ashvale Station is located in the Brisbane Valley at Harlin Qld. It consists of approximately 10,500 acres freehold and 12,000 acres of lease country at Glenmaurie.
David runs a Droughtmaster based herd of approximately 800 breeders, half of this herd is for breeding retained females and bulls as part of a co-operative bull breeding arrangement. The other half is commercially focused with crossbreeding to Angus and Simmental bulls. At Ashvale Station they like to grow most of their weaners out to a feedlot entry weight of 360-420kg.
David also runs a herd of approximately 350 Angus cows that are mated to Wagyu bulls for the turn over of F1 progeny.
By participating in the challenge David hopes to increase the fertility and vigour of growing young cattle.
